“People are always saying that change is a good thing. But all they’re really saying is that something you didn’t want to happen at all… has happened.” That’s one of my favorite quotes from one of my favorite movies, “You’ve Got Mail”.
Well, even though we’ve got a change we didn’t want to happen happening anyway, we think we’re going make great lemonade out of these lemons, or as Dan Stockman so wonderfully pointed out, we’re going to make champagne out of these sour grapes!
Due to some circumstances beyond our control (don’t you love that phrase?), our plans for an afternoon wine tasting on June 19th have changed a bit. We’re now looking at opening the doors of the Arts United Center at 4:30 pm, having some great tastings as the cocktail hour, and then having everyone enjoy the fabulous (this is going to be so good) wine pairings dinner hosted by Club Soda and Dan and Krista Stockman of the Journal-Gazette’s Uncorked column. We’re working on all the details today, but here’s what you can know for absolute certain – it’s going to be a party!
If you already purchased tickets for the afternoon only, just give us a call at 452-1189 and we’ll take care of you (you’re gonna be happy) and if you haven’t yet purchased tickets for the dinner, go online at nipr.fm or give us a call (I’d call and ask for Joan’s special deal, seriously) and we’ll save you a place.
The silent auction is going to be awesome – unbelievable wine and beautiful wine glasses and accessories. It’s a great chance to buy things you really want and support public radio while you’re in the process. Feel good and get good stuff – can’t beat that.
It’s “garden party casual” (I made that up – it means wear whatever you want) so it will be summery, comfortable, and just plain joyful. Seven wines with dinner from Club Soda – how can it not be wonderful? Your presence will make it even better, really!
“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and create a new ending.” ~Maria Robinson.
Let’s create a successful, remarkable end!
Thanks so much,
